Sambuca's 20 Year Anniversary!!
Do you ever feel like one of those ex-high schoolers who remember when the original football stand was there, the old cafeteria was the place to be, and your reunion was a party dreaded and exciting at the same time!?
I'm sure there were plenty of people in attendance wednesday night who felt the same way. After two decades of business Sambuca, a mainstay of Uptown, celebrated it's mark on Dallas.
With the lovely and entertaining Emerald City band performing, this was a party not to be missed!
I do admit I arrived over an hour late, I was watcing The Closer while getting ready, not good if you really love that show like I do!!
Nonetheless I sped in to catch the last of the VIP party and the begginings of the public party.
There were people packed everywhere!!! So many faces I knew, and so many more I didn't!
Among those in attendance were the always lovely Cathy and Tommy Vieth. These are two of the most wonderful people you could hope to know!
And of course our lovely hostess and founder of Sambuca, Holly Forsythe pictured with two of her obviously gorgeous friends!
To see the rest of my pictures head to my Facebook and see who else I snapped a pic with!!
Camille, Connie, Ron, LeeAnne, and tons more!!

The 2011 Dallas Symphony Orchestra AT&T Gala
Held at the Meyerson Symphony Hall, this dinner, concert, and after party was the place to be Saturday night. With sold out ticket sales, the event was packed full of people who love the arts and getting dressed up! With world renowned conductor Jaap van Zweden and award winning violinist Joshua Bell, it was surely a concert to remember.
And I finally found a long dress to wear!
A beautiful Watters & Watters purple satin gown on loan from my friend Mina!!
Trying it on Saturday morning I was worried nothing would work, but she was a life saver!
I thought about wearing the tiara with it, but thought that might be a bit too over the top. Lol!
Although, why not?

The place was packed with people eager to hear Joshua and the DSO.
My gals Shannon and Metsy were there and enjoyed evey minute of it!
I love them! We always have a blast, and look good doing it!
Barbara and Don Daseke were the chairs for the Gala.
And she looked resplendent in Prashe Couture!
Joshua Bell came out to a roar of welcome from the crowd!
I was honored to get a picture with such an awesome performer!!
If you weren't there this year, don't worry, it will come again next year!
And Yo-Yo Ma will be the featured performer!
Can't wait!!

Still on the hunt.
With the hours to the AT&T DSO Gala ticking away, I still have nothing to sheath my body in! This is one of those rare times where I begin to panic!
So I headed to Clothes Circuit to see what dresses could be had!
Many a fashionista knows this Preston and Northwest Hwy treasure trove is stuffed with fine peices of consigner couture! So I just knew that there would be something for the DSO Gala here. Yet not one long dress was for me....so I decided to try on some short ones instead.
What would you pick?!
And I also stopped by another consignment shop some may or may not recognize. Re-Threads, located at Preston and 635, is one of those shops you don't really think of that often. But when you stop by, there's usually some treasures to be found! So I headed in to see what dresses could be snatched up!

New Shoes, and a new shu store!
If you've ever traveled 635 then you're sure to recognize this sign!
And like me, i'm sure many of you have always wondered what that place looks like on the inside, and what kind of shoes you could get for that cheap?
So I after driving by a million times, I decided to pay a visit and see what the deal is!
Shu Deal is the name, and cheap shoes is their game!
I walked in and was suprised at the hundreds of shoes.
You could literally find a shoe for every outfit you owned!! (Which is what I like to do!)
They have leopard shoes, bling shoes (Like below) and any other kind you could think of!
So you know I went a little crazy and started tying dozens of shoes on!
And after an hour of looking and trying on, I finally decided on two pair.
A cute little pair of wedges with feathers and a pair of faux snakeskin sandals!
After getting two paris of shoes for $35 bucks total, I am commited to never pay retail again!!
(Well...mostly.)
Give me your thoughts!!

Missoni for Target..and a few other finds.
If you are any kind of Fashionista, then you knew about the launch of Missoni for Target yesterday morning.
Many lined up in anticipation, and in order to grab some of the best goodies! Alas I was not one of them, I was snuggled in my bed getting beauty rest. After all, how bad could it be? I'll stroll in around 11:30 and grab some of the stuff I wanted, right?
WRONG! The shelves were barren, and filler merchandise was already being stocked!
I couldn't beleive it!
So I wandered the store in search of some remnant of Missoni. The only things I could round up were some headbands, a laptop case, and a few media boxes. I only purchased the media boxes, seeing as I had no use for the others, and slaked the rest of my dissapointment on a few other purchases. Some of which I am eating as I write this!
But I did see this 70's inspired green stone necklace with matching earrings that I thought was rather fetching!
What are your thoughts?

And as I passed by the jewelry section a few peices caught my eye...Look familiar to anyone?
A little reminiscent of a few Hermès and Jay Strongwater bracelets you think?!
Hmmm, not cool Target. It's one thing for a design collaboration and another to rip off a brands distinct designs. Just sayin'
But I guess the price is a smidge cheaper than the real thing.
What are your thoughts?

Closets I Covet......
Number Two in the mini-series, is a closet women the world over would give there right arm to rummage through! This is only one part of the closets Tina Craig (bagsnob.com) stashes her goodies in but one of the best in my opinion. The purse closet. Can you even imagine having a closet just for your purses? I would love to raid this one though; the Hermes, Chanel, and YSL treasures to be found!!

So, Fashions Night Out was a major event all across the country and we saw thousands out and about celebrating. Here's a few snapshots of the Galleria show and the Higland park show, both produced by Jan Strimple Productions, which of course went off without a hitch! We definitely arrived late for the HPV show and had run to my seat between a break! lol!

Consignment Heaven!
I know everyone's looking for deals and steals, especially with the economy. So when we can save on our clothing, shoes, and bags who wouldn't take the opportunity?!
With the AT&T Dallas Symphony Orchestra Gala approaching i'm in need of a floor length dress! And if you know me, I rarely wear floor length dresses.
In my opinion, it doesn't matter how much you pay for something, as long as it looks great on you! So in my search for a gown that will only be worn once (you can't be seen in it twice!), I turn my eyes towards a commonsense alternative.
Consignment.
So I headed to my favorite consignment place- Uptown Consignment
Owned by sisters Camille Umland and Connie Dieb this Cole avenue store is 1000 square feet of designer heaven!! The floor to ceiling racks are packed full of desiger duds, and there is sure to be something in your size; from Christian Dior to Versace, they've got your designer alphabet covered.
Below are pictures of the shop and a few of the dresses I tried on. Plus the shoes (with Swarovski crystals) I did end up purchasing today! Enjoy
